Er zijn twee routes die je naar het meer brengen, route 215 en 217. Route 215 is \u2018makkelijker\u2019, maar zelfs deze route vonden wij best intens. Route 217 is nog uitdagender en raden we echt af als je een beginnende hiker bent. Het hoogteverschil is rond de 300-400 meter. Dus bereid jezelf voor op steile stukken. Onderweg word je getrakteerd op adembenemende panoramische uitzichtpunten en omringd door vele bergtoppen. Wanneer het extreem steil wordt, zijn er trappen gemaakt die het makkelijker maken om omhoog te klimmen. De wandeling is een uitdaging als je hoogtevrees hebt. Na 2-2,5 uur hiken is dit uitzicht al het klimmen en klauteren dubbel en dwars waard. Het meer wordt omringd door de bergketen Gruppo del Sorapis en deze zorgt voor dramatische achtergronden van ruige bergtoppen. Het blauwe water is net een spiegel waarin de reflecties van de bergen goed zichtbaar zijn. Dan raden we het aan om een rondje om het meer te maken. Zo kun je het meer vanuit verschillende hoeken bekijken. Deze unieke kleur van het water ontstaat door fijn gruis uit de bergen dat via smeltwater van de nabijgelegen gletsjer in het meer terecht komt. Als je het meer op een zonnige dag bezoekt, dan zal de blauwe kleur n\u00f3g intenser zijn. Het beste is dan ook om de wandeling in het laagseizoen te maken. Of zorg dat je vroeg start (v\u00f3\u00f3r 8.00 uur) om de drukte voor te zijn. Omdat het een smal wandelpad is, kan het snel overvol raken en kun je niet op je eigen tempo wandelen. Wij bezochten de Dolomieten in juni en begonnen de hike om 6.00 uur. Je hoeft alleen door het poortje te lopen en vanaf hier de bordjes met de route \u2018215\u2019 te volgen. Van juni tot begin september rijden er vanuit Cortina d\u2019Ampezzo een aantal bussen (lijn 30) per dag.
